Simbang Gabi in Chatswood!

Charisse

The Filipino Chaplaincy of Chatswood Parish (FCCP) is starting a yearly tradition to host Simbang Gabi masses.

As posted in the FCCP Facebook page:

The "Simbang Gabi" is a long treasured Philippine tradition. It is a series of dawn masses for 9 consecutive days before Christmas Day. Its liturgical significance emanates from the season of Advent, being the time of spiritual preparation and purification to worthily welcome and receive the child Jesus in our midst. We welcome this season with "Expectant Joy". We gather and celebrate just before daybreak, while it is still dark, to remind us that even in seasons of waiting, we can be filled with excitement and joy in anticipation of all the good things that is to come.
