See You Around, Fr Joey!

In January 2020, just shortly after he was assigned to Chatswood as our assistant parish priest, Fr Joey approached the choir requesting that we sing at his 10th anniversary of priestly ordination Mass in May that year. Il Signore (Prayer of St Francis) by Ryan Cayabyab was one of the songs on his list. However, the pandemic hit and we never did get the chance to celebrate that milestone.

Over the years, we have been learning the songs on Fr Joey's list and singing them at church but we never got around to learning that Cayabyab song.

So when Fr Joey requested that we sing it at the farewell Mass for him and Deacon Richard on January 29, we couldn't say no.

We are so very sad that he is leaving the parish and moving on to his new role as Director of Vocations but we wish him all the best.
